INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS

Introduction

With the development of modern technology, the market today is more towards the globalization. Companies that previously focused on domestic market is now doing business with suppliers and customers around the world. To continue to be competitive, they increasingly need leaders who have the relevant knowledge, experience and training in handling international business. Bachelor of Business majoring in International Business offers courses based on the current needs of the industry and conducted by academic staff who have real experience in the working world. The curriculum covers topics such as property management and leadership in modern organizations, the importance of communication, the development of marketing strategies in the global environment, and international financial management.

Other courses that must be taken by students includes courses in law, accounting, management, marketing, finance, business, economics and information systems to assist students preparing to become international business leaders. The curriculum is designed to provide students with the framework for analyzing the company’s business and understand the challenges faced by businesses in domestic and international markets Bachelor of Business also provides a foundation for students who wish to pursue advanced studies at the Degree Program.

Program Specialty

Students are required to take at least one foreign language course which is not their native language for four consecutive semesters. This is to enable students to master one foreign language after graduating later.
Students have the opportunity to undertake the Industrial Training:
4 months at local place; OR
3 months at local place and one month abroad (students who demonstrate outstanding performance in academic and co-curricular will be selected for the program outside the National Industrial Training)
Students have the opportunity to build an international business network with multinational companies through industry training activities.

Industrial Training

Industrial training are compulsary to all students enrolled for the Bachelor of Business (Hons) (International Business) at Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP). The students are required to attend training industry for 4 months (16 weeks) and is provided by 6 units / credits. Through this program, students are expected to gain benefit as well as to provide experience of the world of a real career. The student may use this opportunity and be better prepared for the real working environment

  1. Student is compulsaryto pay fees  totaled RM 1,648.00 on or before the registration day. The students have to settle the recurring fees totaled RM 1,248.00 on first semester for every academic session.
    However, recurring fees totaled RM 1,220.00 for the second semester for every academic session (excluding Family Takaful insurance (annually)which to be paid once in a year).D. Any changes in the fee is subjected to the University.

 

Method of Payment

Semester fee payment can be made at any branch of Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad on behalf of ( Bendahari Universiti Malaysia Perlis – account number 0901-0001334-71-1) using bank-in slip “ that is provided by the UniMAP.

The students are requested to open an account at Bank Muamalat residence / area / state respectively before the day of registration.

If there is no branch of the Bank Muamalat at nearest place  area /  state of students, students can open an account on the day of registration of Bank Muamalat

The student must provide RM10.00 and one (1)  copy of your identity card to open an account

Cash-in slip must be submitted to:

Copy (1) Submit to the Bank when making payments (white copy)
Copy (2) For student copy (blue copy)
Copy (3) Submit to UniMAP Treasury Department on the day of registration as proof of payment (copy in yellow)

 

The students are not allowed to pay fees through Cash Deposit Machine (CDM) as the difficulty to obtain the name of the payer of the bank.

Students With Sponsorship

Students who receive sponsorship from any government / private agencies need to bring the original letter and a photocopy of confirmation from the Treasury Department

Failure to Settle Tuition Fees

Students are requested to clarify the fees that remain unpaid before the examination day. Students who fail to pay fees may be barred from taking the examination.

Diploma

University General Requirements
As well as the PROGRAM’s SPECIAL requirement
Diploma Qualifications: Diploma from a Public Institutions of Higher Learning or other recognized institutions in the field that is appropriate to the applied course. Must have, at least a CGPA of 2.50. The exception of several relevant subjects may be subject to the results of the examination obtained at the diploma level (Candidates must attach a copy of the academic transcript from the first semester to the final semester when submitting an application to UniMAP). Approval at the Certificate level will NOT be considered.  (Qualification from STPM / Matriculation KPM / PASUM / Foundation UITM Year 2009 or earlier) Science, technical, accounting or art stream: obtained at least Grade C (2.00) in any two (2) of the following subjects:

Science / Technical Stream:
Mathematics / Mathematics T / Further
